LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, July 19, with the Hon. Sarah L. Deneke presiding.
In the case of Temeka C. Smith of Lancaster, charged with a felony for violating probation, a show cause hearing was scheduled for August 9.
Michael A. Coleman of White Stone, charged with a felony for stalking, second offense within five years and appealing a misdemeanor conviction for assault and battery, was previously found not competent for trial and sent for competency restoration services. A review hearing was continued to January 24, 2025.
In the case of Joseph S. Callahan of Burgess, charged with three felonies for failing to appear, a show cause hearing was scheduled for August 23.
In the case of Joseph C. Jackson of White Stone, charged with a felony for not reporting an accident with more than $1,000 in damages and two misdemeanors for assault and battery, a trial was continued by defense motion until August 9.
In the case of Ann S. Towner of Kilmarnock, appealing a general district court misdemeanor conviction of driving while intoxicated, first offense, a trial was continued by defense motion until August 9.
In the case of Kayla M. Veney of Lancaster, charged with two felonies for other forgery/employ as true, both charges were nolle prossed.
William M. Noel of Weems, pleaded guilty to four felonies for other forgery/uttering; four felonies for other forgery/employ as true; and two felonies for obtaining money under false pretenses. A felony charge for violating probation was dismissed and sentencing was scheduled for September 6.
