On August 16, Friends of the Northumberland Public Library will sponsor a reading and discussion with author Cheryl L. Reed about her new book, Map of My Escape. The Books Alive! discussion will take place from 5-7 p.m. at the Northumberland Library, 7204 Northumberland Highway in Heathsville.
Map of My Escape is a suspense novel about an anti-gun activist who accidentally shoots a cop and flees to a remote island where she eludes her trackers by using old school methods in a digital age, said Reed. The novel explores the effects of a high school shooting on three survivors 13 years later.
Refreshments will be served.
