HENRICO—It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Marvin Everett Dameron Jr., a beloved father, grandfather and friend who passed away on July 21, 2024. Born and raised in Kilmarnock, Marvin made a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Marvin was a dedicated project manager at Ericsson for many years, where his expertise and commitment were highly valued. His work was more than a job; it was a testament to his meticulous nature and passion for excellence.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Marvin Everett Dameron Sr. and Ruth Tomlinson Dameron. Marvin’s legacy lives on through his son, James Everett Dameron, and his wife Karen. He also cherished Stephanie Williamson, whom he thought of as his own daughter, along with her family including her husband Rick and children, Carter, Rett, Tatum and Thadeus. Marvin was a proud grandfather to Jessica Robin Dameron and Jacob Cole Dameron. His grandchildren brought immense joy to his life and he treasured every moment spent with them. He enjoyed watching Cole play football and attended as many of his swim meets as possible. His presence at these and other family events will be deeply missed.
A resident of Henrico County in his later years, Marvin never forgot his roots in Kilmarnock. He was known for his love of life, good food and his unwavering support for the Dallas Cowboys. His infectious enthusiasm and warm spirit touched all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. August 24 at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock, followed by a graveside service at Mila Community Cemetery in Heathsville.
Marvin was incredibly generous, donating to numerous charities. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Episcopal School, 3850 Pittaway Drive, Richmond, VA, 23235, (Attention: Athletics Department), to which he had recently contributed.
Marvin’s memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
