LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, August 23, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Joseph Callahan of Burgess, charged with six felonies for violating probation and three felonies for failing to appear, probation was revoked. He was given a total of 27 years and 11 months, all of which were suspended on three probation violation charges. He was ordered to pay $263 in court costs and will serve 12 months of supervised probation. The three remaining charges for violating probation and three charges for failing to appear were nolle prossed.
In the case of Joshua S. Meador, no address given, charged with three felonies for violating probation, a show cause hearing was continued to November 8.
In the case of Montez D. Thompson, no address given, charged with a felony for violating probation, a status hearing was scheduled for January 24.
In the case of Stephen O. Fortune of Richmond, charged with a felony for selling, etc. stolen property greater than $200, a status hearing was scheduled for November 8 pending the results of a mental exam.
In the case of James H. Slater Jr. of Reedville, charged with a felony for not reporting an accident with damage greater than $1,000 and a misdemeanor for reckless driving, endangering life, limb or property, a trial was scheduled for November 8.
Blake A. Bundy of Heathsville pleaded guilty to a felony for possession of a Schedule I/II substance and was given a deferred disposition as a first offender. A disposition hearing was scheduled for August 22, 2025.
The case of Richard A. Rose of Weems, charged with a felony for obtaining drugs by fraud, was taken under advisement and a disposition hearing was scheduled for August 22, 2025.
