The Stratford Hall Wine & Oyster Festival welcomed the fall season September 21 and 22 at the Stratford Hall Historic Preserve. The crowd enjoyed wine, cider, spirits and beer tastings, arts and crafts vendors, car shows, music, tours of the Great House and grounds, oysters and other concessions and children’s activities. Sheldon Russell (left) shucked oysters at the Shore Thing Shellfish tent. The St. Mary’s County, Md. oyster purveyor brought a fresh catch from St. George’s Creek. Numerous vendors offered oysters raw, roasted or fried. Photos by Robert Mason Jr.
