Historical societies to host talks by author Dr. Anthony-Tolbert

Author Dr. Anthony-Tolbert prepares for her upcoming engagements.

The Northumberland County Historical Society (NCHS) and Lancaster Virginia Historical Society (LVHS) recently announced their upcoming meetings will both feature a presentation by author Susan Anthony-Tolbert, Ph.D., about her recent book, Almost in the Clouds! The Story of the Miskimon Fire Tower, Miskimon, Virginia.

Anthony-Tolbert will speak at 2:30 p.m. October 20 at the NCHS, 86 Back Street, Heathsville, followed by light refreshments. She also will speak during the LVHS annual meeting, which begins at 4 p.m. October 22 at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

Dr. Anthony-Tolbert is a prolific writer of historical books, novels, poems and children’s stories. According to LVHS executive director Karen Hart, much of her historical work concerns local subjects….
