School board and administration urge county to fund playground equipment

CLARAVILLE—The school board, principals and superintendent Holly Wargo on Monday, November 11, urged staff members, families and the community at large to call upon the Northumberland County Board of Supervisors for funding for new playground equipment.

Elementary school principal Martha Williams presented a safety presentation regarding the current state of the elementary school playground. She provided a letter from facilities director Jeff Brann detailing the sub-par conditions of the playground.

According to Brann, two playground structures had recently been deemed no longer safe….
