The Red Devils wrestling team was the underdog Saturday, January 25, as the only Class 1 school among multiple Class 3 and higher schools at the Henrico Invitational in Richmond.
Yet, Lancaster had three wrestlers finish in the top eight in their respective weight classes. Ashby Russell and Isaac Hernandez both finished fourth and Nathan Meberg eighth.
Russell went 3-3 with a pin and tech fall in the 138 pound class. Hernandez, wrestling at 126, went 2-3 with two pins. There were 24 wrestlers in each of their brackets.
