KILMARNOCK—Council members, town staff, friends and family gathered Monday, February 24, to recognize Les Spivey for his public service and government work spanning 25 years.
Council unanimously adopted a resolution honoring Spivey, who had recently stepped down from his position on town council.
Mae Umphlett, Curtis Smith, Mike Bedell, Rebecca Nunn, Alice Cooper and Matt Cunningham all voted in favor of the resolution, 6-0.
Over the course of 25 years, Spivey served numerous terms on the planning commission as well as town council.
