
The St. Margaret’s School varsity girls basketball team recently won the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Division III State Championship. The Scotties defeated Carlisle High School, 49-46, for the title.
Under the leadership of Cornelius Snead, the team demonstrated determination, skill and teamwork throughout the season, reported Edwina Ball. Snead was named VISAA Division III coach of the year and League of Independent Schools (LIS) coach of the year.
