Irvington approves Vineyard Grove STR, declines action on related density exception

IRVINGTON—A short-term rental (STR) will be available in time for the summer season following the Irvington Town Council’s unanimous approval of a related permit submitted by Carolyn Crone to operate an STR at 31 Spring Street in Vineyard Grove.

Frederick Johnson, Frances Westbrook, Mary Cary Bradley, Phil Robinson and Wayne Nunnally on Thursday, March 13, approved the permit, 5-0. Bonnie Schaschek had recently stepped down from her seat on council.

The approval of the STR application comes on the heels of Vineyard Grove property owners requesting the town to consider exempting the neighborhood from the STR ordinance’s density stipulations, which notes no singular home can be surrounded by STRs.
