The Link, 25 Office Park Drive, Suite #4, Kilmarnock, recently hired its first paid, full-time executive director. The board of directors recently offered the newly-established position to Margaret “Maggie” M. Watts.
The Link is a partnership of churches and helping agencies. It functions as a centralized information and referral service for residents of Lancaster and Northumberland counties who find themselves in need of financial assistance and guidance.
In 2024, The Link assisted 230 clients from the two counties and connected them with $175,046.39 in assistance provided by its partners. Along with five office volunteers, The Link has a part-time administrative director, an emergency services coordinator and an employment services specialist. A six-person board of directors, with the assistance of an advisory council, oversees operations.
Watts is a graduate of Sweet Briar College, where she majored in sociology and minored in Spanish. Fluent in Spanish, she served for two years with the Peace Corps….
