Tidal marshes
The Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society will meet today, April 17, at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock. Social time will begin at noon, the program will follow at 12:15 p.m.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologist Maeve Coker will present “Virginia’s Freshwater Tidal Marshes: A Coastal Gem.”
Potluck dinner
Bluff Point Community League will hold a potluck dinner Monday, April 21, at 2595 Bluff Point Road, Kilmarnock. Social time will begin at 6 p.m. Dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. Bring a dish to share.
Katie and David Dew of IsaBell K. Horsley Real Estate will be the after-dinner speakers. They will talk about the real estate market and what makes a home sell.
Cantori Choral
The Cantori Choral Ensemble will present spring concerts at 5 p.m. April 27 at Walnut Hills Baptist Church, 1014 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, and 7:30 p.m. May 4 at Abingdon Episcopal Church, 4645 George Washington Highway, Gloucester.
Tickets may be reserved by sending a check made out to Cantori, 3341 Derby Lane, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Advance tickets are $15 for adults. Tickets at the door will be $20 for adults. Tickets are good for either location.
NNK250 series
The 2025 NNK250 Signature Speaker Series will continue at 2 p.m. April 27, at the Rappahannock Indigenous Conservation Education Center, Cat Point Creek Unit, Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge, 2570 Newland Road, Warsaw.
Dr. Brad Hatch will present “The Kidnapping of Pocahontas, Politics and Mythmaking in Patawomeck Country.”
Founders’ tea
The Northumberland Homemakers Club will hold an annual tea at 11 a.m. April 28 at St. Stephens Church in Heathsville. The club invites anyone related to the original members of the organization to join them for the tea.
Relatives will be seated at the president’s table. Those who plan to attend are urged to call president Yvette Harding, 580-0931. All are welcome.

The Northern Neck Rotary Club meets at 7:30 a.m. on second and fourth Wednesdays at River Counties Community Foundation, 834 Rappahannock Drive, White Stone. Those interested in the speaker topics or Rotary are welcome.
RFM concert
Janie Meneely and Rob Van Sante will be featured from 6-8 p.m. May 10 at Reedville Fishermen’s Museum (RFM), 504 Main Street, Reedville. The concert will benefit the skipjack Claud W. Somers.
Food and beverages will be sold. Admission is $20 for members or $25 for others. Children 12 and younger will be admitted free.
RCA show
The Rappahannock Concert Association will present the Rat Pack Impersonator Group Tribute Show at 7:30 p.m. May 17, at the Northumberland County School Performing Arts Theater, 201 Academic Lane, Heathsville.
Admission is by subscription, or a single concert ticket, $35. Purchase tickets at rappahannockconcerts.org, or at the door on concert night, cash or check only.
“Frenemies”
“Founding Frenemies: Hamilton and the Virginians,” a traveling exhibit from the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, will be on exhibit through May 26 at the Mathews Museum, 200 Main Street Mathews.
Co-asponsored by the Mathews Museum and the Mathews County Historical Society, the exhibit complements Lin-Manuel Miranda’s award-winning “Hamilton,” which tells the story of Alexander Hamilton’s relationships with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.
