IRVINGTON—Ann Lee Arnold of Irvington died on November 27, 2024. She was 84. Ann was born in Lebanon, Pa., to the late Walter and Jeanette Patschke.
Ann is survived by her husband of 58 years, G. Jeffrey Arnold; sons, Jeffrey S. Falk of Bethesda, Md., and G. Christopher Arnold of Louisville, Ky.; and granddaughter, Lauren L. Arnold of Lakewood, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her brother, W. Scott Patschke.
After 20 years of annually visiting Irvington, Ann and Jeff decided to take up residence here in 2002. In a short time, Ann became involved in mahjong, tennis, spec tennis and bridge. She was an avid reader and enjoyed immensely being a part of her book club, Rivah Bookies. She was also a social and tennis member of Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club for many years.
Ann volunteered for a short time at Historic Christ Church, helping with their herb garden. She was also a part of the Village Improvement Association for a number of years. However, her most rewarding volunteer experience was back in Lebanon where, for several years, she tutored adults in ESL at Lebanon Family Health Services. She was occasionally able to attend their naturalization ceremonies! Also in Ann’s earlier years in Lebanon, she enjoyed ice-skating, and for several years was a member of the Hershey Junior Figure Skating Club in Hershey, Pa.
Back in Virginia, Ann enjoyed kayaking, boating, birdwatching, long walks and loved cooking. She also enjoyed traveling, especially by cruise ship. Over the span of their marriage, she and her husband traveled quite often, visiting many historical sites as well as exotic and scenic locales.
Ann was a loving, caring, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and overall, just a delightful person. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
