Opening day
Morattico Waterfront Museum, 6584 Morattico Road, Morattico, will open for the season on Saturday, May 3, with a celebration from noon-4 p.m.
Tour the old general store housing the museum, as well as the village. Enjoy a free grilled hot dog lunch and music by Bob Wilson from 1-3 p.m. in the pavilion. Friends of the Rappahannock and Friends of Belle Isle also will be onsite.
Spring Fling
The Northumberland County Community Center Organization, 679 Brown Store Road, Heathsville, will host Spring Fling for ages 30 and older from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Saturday, May 3.

SAR to meet
The Richard Henry Lee Chapter, Virginia Sons of the American Revolution, will meet May 13 at the Bayne Conference Center, Historic Christ Church and Museum, 430 Christ Church Road, Weems. A social period will begin at 11:30 a.m., lunch will be served at noon. The guest speaker will be retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. James R. Harding.

Angelica Baylor
The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck (BGCNN), 517 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, will host a Mother’s Day Concert May 10 with Angelica Baylor. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m. and the concert will follow from 7-8 p.m.

RFM concert
Janie Meneely and Rob Van Sante will be featured from 6-8 p.m. May 10 at Reedville Fishermen’s Museum (RFM), 504 Main Street, Reedville. The concert will benefit the skipjack Claud W. Somers.
Food and beverages will be sold. Admission is $20 for members or $25 for others. Children 12 and younger will be admitted free.
Preakness Party
The Rappahannock Community College (RCC) Educational Foundation will hold the 21st annual Preakness Party from 4-7 p.m. May 17 at Millmont in Wake. The event will feature hors d’oeuvres, regional wines, cocktails, beer, non-alcoholic options, auctions, contests and viewing of the Preakness Stakes.

Diamonds & Denim
The Healthy Harvest Food Bank, 55 Commerce Drive, Warsaw, will host the annual Diamonds & Denim on May 17. The gala will open with a cocktail hour from 4-5 p.m., followed by dinner and dessert from 5-6 p.m., program and auction from 5:45-6:30 p.m. and dancing to The Haus Band from 6:30 into the night.

RCA show
The Rappahannock Concert Association will present the Rat Pack Impersonator Group Tribute Show at 7:30 p.m. May 17, at the Northumberland County School Performing Arts Theater, 201 Academic Lane, Heathsville.

Fish fry

“Frenemies”
“Founding Frenemies: Hamilton and the Virginians,” a traveling exhibit from the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, will be on exhibit through May 26 at the Mathews Museum, 200 Main Street Mathews.
Co-sponsored by the Mathews Museum and the Mathews County Historical Society, the exhibit complements Lin-Manuel Miranda’s award-winning “Hamilton,” which tells the story of Alexander Hamilton’s relationships with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.
Rotary meetings
The Northern Neck Rotary Club meets at 7:30 a.m. on second and fourth Wednesdays at River Counties Community Foundation, 834 Rappahannock Drive, White Stone. Those interested in the speaker topics or Rotary are welcome.
Theater camp
Registration has opened for The Lancaster Players Youth Theater Workshop August 4 through 9, for ages 8-18. Auditions will be held at 2 p.m. August 3 at The Lancaster Playhouse, 361 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone, to ascertain individual skill levels allowing instructors to tailor the workshop to the skills of the participants.
