Stratford Hall, 483 Great House Road, Stratford, recently announced plans for Virginia Resolved: A Commemoration of Independence, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 7.
On June 7, 1776, acting on the instructions of the fifth Virginia Convention, Northern Neck native Richard Henry Lee introduced in the Second Continental Congress a motion to recognize the Colonies as “free and independent states” and “dissolve all political connection” between them and Great Britain.
To commemorate Richard Henry Lee’s declaration on independence, Stratford Hall, in partnership with the Jessie Ball duPont Fund and NNK250, will have a day of family-fun activities….
