Some 50 Lancaster High School Band members and chaperones boarded buses before daylight on April 10 to travel to Atlanta for the Music in the Parks Festival.
This trip is something students look forward to all year, reported band director Kenny Flester.
In addition to performing in both marching and concert competitions, students had an opportunity to visit various sites around Atlanta. They toured the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola. After performing, the students enjoyed a day of fun at Six Flags amusement park. The LHS band finished third in the concert competition and first in marching.
