Sheriff’s Report 5-29-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

James Harold Gallon, 72, of Lancaster was charged May 19 with aggravated malicious wounding, unlawful discharge of a firearm within in a building or dwelling house when occupied by one or more persons in such a manner as to endanger the life or lives of such person, and recklessly handling a firearm so as to endanger life, limb of property (misdemeanor).

Alkendra Shatoye Coleman, 33, of Lancaster was charged May 24 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on the underlying charge of manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing or possessing with the intent to manufacture, sell, give or distribute a controlled substance.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 25, was charged May 20 with failure to appear in court on May 12 on the underlying charge of child support.

A Kilmarnock man, 37, was charged May 24 with driving while intoxicated with a BAC of at least 0.21, reckless driving a motor vehicle on the highway at a speed of 20 miles per hour or more in excess of the applicable maximum speed limit, and failure to wear an appropriate safety belt system which such vehicle was in motion on a public highway.

A Lancaster man, 32, was charged May 25 with assault and battery.

Activity report

May 19: Staff responded to the 60 block of Hazel Lane for a domestic assault, to the 200 block of Pinckardsville Road for legal advice, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for destruction of property, and to Devils Bottom and Mary Ball roads for a disabled vehicle.

May 20: Staff responded to the 80 block of School Street for suspicious activity, to the 5000 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, and to the 3000 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a larceny.

May 21: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a reckless driver, to the 200 block of Dragon Fly Drive for trespassing, to the 200 block of Windmill Point Road for fraud, to the 900 block of Christ Church Road for a verbal dispute, and to the 200 block of Spindrift Road for a verbal dispute.

May 22: Staff responded to the 700 block of Chownings Ferry Road for an adult welfare check, to the 70 block of Peake Road for a verbal dispute, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for fraud, to Goodluck Road and Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the Norris Bridge for debris in the highway.

May 23: Staff responded to Weems Road for a traffic complaint, and to the Norris Bridge for a suspicious person.

May 24: Staff responded to the 100 block of Peirces Road for a domestic disturbance.

May 25: Staff responded to the 100 block of Greentown Road for a verbal dispute, to the 1800 block of Weems Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Rocky Neck Road for an assault, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for threats, and to the 400 block of Greentown Road for threats.

Staff also conducted 19 traffic stops, issued 12 summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a request for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged an inmate transport, received four E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 159 Broadway, a brush fire on Ocran Road, a fire alarm at 317 Long Cove Lane, and a traffic crash at 1898 Weems Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a traffic crash at Goodluck Road and Jessie duPont Memorial Highway.
