The deadline for ordering Watermen’s Way boots is August 1.

This is a public art project that honors the men and women who work the water around the Northern Neck, inspired by the iconic white rubber boots worn by watermen and waterwomen, reported Northumberland Public library (NPL) director Jane Blue.
Since 2017 more than 15 pairs of boots have been displayed along Main Street in Kilmarnock and other locations around the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula.
Sponsors buy the boots, which are roughly four feet wide and three feet tall, for $2,500. They must agree to display them at….
