Hunt for antique glassware and lamps leads to Maw’s Treasures

Collectors, especially those with a penchant for glassware and lamps, will find an abundance at Maw’s Treasures, 538 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.

The store is chock full of owner Judy Franklin’s treasures, with an emphasis on glassware including Fostoria, milk glass and depression glass in shades of green, amber, blue and pink.

Piles of gravel and heavy equipment fill the front parking lot and cars under repair at A&M Auto and Truck Repair are parked along the side of the building. The store may be hidden for most passersby.

Franklin’s son, Jason, owner of JCFranklin Inc, a site and utility contractor, recently started renting office space at the building, which has served for many years as a car dealership. He had no need for the showroom….
