
The Rappahannock Pistol & Rifle Club (RPRC) on Saturday, July 19, conducted a Tyro pistol match at the club range in White Stone.
The match is a challenging pistol match shooting multiple targets under time pressure, reported training director Mike Rancourt.
Following NRA guidelines, the match consists of rapid-fire shooting using center-fire (high-power) or rim fire pistols at a distance of 30 feet. Targets are three NRA-AP-1 targets which are placed 10 feet apart when measured between the centers of each target. The center of the target consists of a two-inch radius “X” ring inside the four-inch radius “10” ring. The next scoring ring has a six-inch radius “8” ring with a “5” scoring area on the rest of the target.
