KILMARNOCK—Robert J. “Bobby B” Bonzano of Kilmarnock passed peacefully on August 8, 2025.

He was born December 31, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo. He was known for his strong work ethic and witty sense of humor. Bobby B worked as a master meat cutter and in the construction industry. He relocated from Catlett to Kilmarnock in 2005 to enjoy his love of fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. He was an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life. He loved nature and the great outdoors.

Bobby B was known as PawPaw by his family whom he loved very much. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather along with being a friend to all. He never knew a stranger because he enjoyed talking to everyone. He was loved by everyone who met him and always willing to lend a helping hand.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Donna Bonzano; his parents, James and Annette Bonzano; and stepmother, Mary Bonzano.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Bonzano Grove (Eric) of Midland; son, Michael Bonzano (Karin) of Salt Lake City, Utah; and son, Darrell Bonzano (Jill) of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Jaime Grove Satterlee (Bryant) of Stuart’s Draft, Amanda Grove Butler (Nathan) of Bealeton, and Kelly and Brooke Bonzano of Chesterfield; great-grandchildren, Audrey Butler, Allie Butler and Jack Satterlee; brothers, Joseph Bonzano and James Bonzano II; sister, Patricia Popovich; and many nieces and nephews.

No service has been scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Northumberland County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 603, Burgess, VA 22432; or an organization of your choice.

Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
