Tangier mayor James “Ooker” Eskridge will attend the opening day of the film, “Been Here, Stay Here” at Compass Cinema Six, 100 Entertainment Drive, Irvington, on Friday, September 5.
The documentary chronicles Tangier Island’s struggle against climate change.
Eskridge will be making his first visit to the Kilmarnock area, said Kilmarnock Museum president Carroll Lee Ashburn. He will be met by Kilmarnock Mayor Shawn Donahue, White Stone Mayor Will Hubbard and Irvington Mayor Julie Harris.
