Irvington planners take steps to eliminate square footage requirements for new homes

IRVINGTON—Current minimum square footage requirement for new homes may be dismantled following discussions Tuesday, September 2, before the Irvington Planning Commission.

Town administrator Justin Nelson said the commission would soon receive a conditional use permit (CUP) application from a property owner on King Carter Drive looking to put a home on their land. According to Nelson, the home in question is a modular home and is considerably smaller than the town’s 1200 square foot requirement.
