WHITE STONE—The White Stone business district will become a trick-or-treater’s haven on Halloween.
White Stone Candy for Kids, presented by the Lancaster by the Bay Chamber of Commerce, Town of White Stone and White Stone Volunteer Fire Department, was endorsed unanimously, 7-0, by town council on October 2.
AnnGardner Eubank made the motion to support the White Stone Candy for Kids, saying she loved the idea of kids trick-or-treating in town. Ran Reeves seconded it with Eubank, Reeves, Irving Brittingham, Charles Brocklebank, Tad Pittman, James Smith and Kathryn Roop all voting in favor.
The White Stone Candy for Kids trick-or-treating event will be held from 5-7 p.m. October 31 in the business district.
Brocklebank said he was approached about White Stone hosting Candy for Kids by businessman and chamber board member Brad Smith and his wife, Lauren, because there wasn’t going to be such an organized trick-or-treating event in Kilmarnock this year.

Businesses urged to participate
The Lancaster by the Bay Chamber of Commerce on Monday, October 6, issued a related plea to the business community.
“We’re thrilled to announce a brand-new community event,” said executive director Leslie Jingluski. “We’re so excited to partner with the Town of White Stone and the White Stone Volunteer Fire Department to bring this fun and safe Halloween celebration to our community’s children.”
White Stone businesses are invited to join a Downtown Decoration Contest, she said. Businesses are asked to decorate in the Halloween spirit. The winning business will receive…..There's more to this story...
