State Fair attracts some local giants

Billy Lackert of White Stone marvels at the 195.4-pound watermelon entered  by JR Brent of Lancaster in the 2025 State Fair of Virginia giant vegetable competition. Brent placed second behind Gwen and David Harris of Blacksburg in the giant watermelon category, whose watermelon weighed in at 232.6 pounds.
