LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, October 10, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Ernest O. Kelley of Lancaster, charged with three counts of attempted first degree murder; two counts of eluding police, endangering others; three counts of using a firearm in a felony, and felonies for malicious assault, malicious shooting at an emergency vehicle, shooting at an occupied building, a violent felon in possession of a weapon, shooting in commission of a felony and shooting a firearm from a vehicle, a jury trial was continued pending the completion of a competency evaluation. A status hearing is scheduled December 19.
Christian Paul Lyons of Lancaster who previously pleaded guilty to a felony for a prisoner damaging property to escape, was sentenced to two years with one year and 10 months suspended and 12 months of supervised probation. He was also ordered to pay $435 in court costs.
In the case of De’Avion J. Holden of Lancaster, charged with a felony for rape by force/threat; a misdemeanor for stalking with fear of death/assault; a misdemeanor for consensual sex with a child, 15 years or older; and a felony for extortion in writing, a status hearing was scheduled for December 19 pending the completion of a competency evaluation.
In the case of Maria F. Thompson of Kilmarnock, charged with one felony and two misdemeanors for violating probation, a review hearing was scheduled for December 19.
Joseph Cox Jr. of Weems was found guilty of a felony for assault and battery of a family member, third-plus offense. A sentencing hearing was scheduled for January 9. He was found not guilty of a felony for strangling with injury as a result. Cox also is charged with 13 felonies for violating probation. A show cause hearing on those charges also is scheduled for January 9.
