Candy for Kids
White Stone Candy for Kids will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Halloween, October 31, throughout the White Stone business district.
Families are invited to bring children in costumes downtown for trick-or-treating among participating decorated businesses as well as a trunk-or-treat event at the firehouse. Times may differ for trick-or-treating in residential areas.
Halloween invite
The Woman’s Club of White Stone, 560 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone, invites ghouls and goblins of all ages to stop by during the Candy for Kids event from 5-7 p.m. on Halloween, October 31, for a bewitching celebration with treats that are to die for.
Bring the whole family for a fang-tastic evening of creepy decorations and sweet surprises. It’ll be a boo-tiful night!
Trick-or-treating in Kilmarnock
The Town of Kilmarnock recently announced trick-or-treating hours are 5-9 p.m. only Friday, October 31.
Per the town’s ordinances, only children ages 12 and younger are permitted to engage in trick-or-treating activities. Parents or guardian may accompany the children.
Trick-or-treating in Reedville
The Reedville small-town Halloween trick-or-treating will start around dusk Friday, October 31. In addition to door-to-door trick-or-treating along Main Street, the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum will offer a nautical-themed amusement.
Trunk-or-Treat
Halloween Trunk-or-Treat, sponsored by the Irvington Village Improvement Association, will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, October 31, at the Irvington Town Commons, 98 King Carter Drive, Irvington.
The event is open to ages 12 and younger in Halloween garb and accompanied by a parent. A children and pet parade will begin at 6 p.m. Pets in costume are also welcome.
Fall fun
Fall Family Fun Day will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, November 1, at Stratford Hall Historic Preserve, 483 Great House Road, Stratford. Activities will include tractor wagon rides, take-home crafts, lawn games, scavenger hunts, pumpkin painting and even pumpkin bowling.
Admission is $5 for ages 6 and older and free for ages 5 and younger, Friends of Stratford members and Museums for All participants. Purchase tickets at stratfordhall.org, or the gate.
Basket Auction
A Basket Auction and Fashion Show will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 1, at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Kilmarnock. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be served.
The event is a fundraiser sponsored by the Virginia Gamma Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa. Proceeds will be used to benefit teacher scholarships, St. Jude Hospital and the Alzheimer’s Association.
Genealogy classes
The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society (LVHS) Fall Genealogy Classes will continue from 1-3:30 p.m. on November 6 with Dead Men Do Tell Tales – Estate Records and Cemeteries.

Marine Corps Birthday Ball
Marine Corps League Detachment 1062 will host a Marine Corps Birthday Ball at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club at 5 p.m. November 7 to commemorate the 250th birthday of the Marine Corps.

Gospel choir
Rappahannock Concert Association will present The Howard Gospel Choir of Howard University at 3 p.m. November 8 at the Performing Arts Theater, Northumberland County School Complex, 201 Academic Lane, Heathsville.

Holiday play
The Westmoreland Players, 16217 Richmond Road, Callao, will present “It’s a Wonderful Life” by James Rodgers. Shows will be staged at 7:30 p.m. November 21, 22, 28, 29 and December 5, and 3 p.m. November 23, 30 and December 6 and 7.

History gala
The Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Society will present Northern Neck History on the Half-Shell from 2-5 p.m. November 22, at Ingleside Vineyards, 5872 Leedstown Road, Oak Grove. The gala will offer oysters, beef brisket, fried chicken, side dishes, music by the Tylor Nichols Band, raffles and a silent auction.

Rotary meetings
