Lexi VerMeer named district volleyball player of the year

Sophomore hitter Lexi VerMeer, a dominating force at the net, was named Northern Neck District volleyball player of the year after helping lead Lancaster to an unbeaten regular season district record at 10-0. VerMeer also filled an all-district first team spot along with two other LHS players.

Westmoreland alumni and coach of the Lady Eagles, AC Harding, was chosen by peers as district coach of the year.

VerMeer put over almost half of Lancaster’s 661 kills on the season, leading the Lady Devils with 318 for a 50.8%. She also had 14 blocks, served over 57 aces and had 207 digs.
