NPL Friends plan fall trip to Asheville

The Friends of Northumberland Public Library will host a four-day tour to Asheville, N.C. and environs October 15 to 18.

The package will include roundtrip transportation by motor coach, three nights’ lodging, tour escorts, three breakfasts and three dinners, reported president Diana Russell. Operated by Kelly Tours, the price per person is $1,099 double occupancy, or $1,384 single occupancy.

The tour will begin in Heathsville with a ride to Asheville and a welcome dinner at Rhubarb’s Restaurant. A highlight of the trip is a visit to Biltmore Estate, America’s largest privately-owned home, that includes acres of formal and informal gardens designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.
