Lancaster opened Northern Neck District boy varsity basketball play last week with a 65-48 win on the road over Colonial Beach, then got stumped by Northumberland before a packed house at LHS.
With their 1-1 start in league play, the Red Devils are now 3-5 overall and will host Rappahannock tomorrow, January 16.

The Indians held a three-point lead after a back-and-forth first half then expanded their lead to 11 early in the fourth and went on to beat the Devils, 62-56, on Friday, January 9.
De’Maure Palmer, who finished with 15 points, hit two threes in a 19-13 third quarter that helped the Indians pull away.
Tyreek Lundy, who led NHS with 21, scored nine and Palmer seven of Northumberland’s 20 points in the second quarter when the two teams combined to 39. Lancaster put up 19 in the wild second quarter with Antonio Tomlin scoring seven. Tomlin had the game high 22 points and led six LHS scorers. Jamarcus Russell finished with 18.
Northumberland had a balanced attack with scoring from 10 players, including eight from Camden Brann and six from Zion Banks.
In a game with five ties and multiple lead changes in the second and third quarters, the Indians took their biggest lead of the game by 11 when Jamari’s Barber added three free throws with 2:16 to go in the third. The Indians went up by 13 in the fourth after holding the Devils scoreless for the first two and a half minutes before Tomlin finally hit for LHS.
Lancaster got as close as six with under three minutes to play off two foul shots and a steal and lay-up by Russell.
The Indians improved to 8-1 on the season and are on an eight-game winning streak with their only loss in the season opener to Middlesex.

Nine players scored and everybody got playing time when Lancaster opened district play with a 17-point victory over the Drifters.
Russell put up the game high 23 points and Tomlin added 12. De’Avion Lucas finished with eight and Carlmone Noel seven for the Devils.
Lancaster nearly doubled CBHS’s first half output with a 32-14 lead at the break.
Colt Christian and Ben Barron did the bulk of the work for the Drifters; Christian scored 20 points and Barron 19 for 39 of the team’s 48 total.
