Sheriff’s Report
Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against 10 individuals.
Felonies
Christopher Lynn Goins Jr., 36, of Lancaster was charged January 28 with manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing or possessing with intent to manufacture, sell, give or distribute a controlled substance.
Travis Devon Wiggins, 38, of Lancaster was charged January 28 with a bomb threat.
Steven Woodrow Self, 63, of Weems was charged January 29 with two counts of attempted murder: second degree; unlawfully, feloniously and maliciously shooting at an occupied motor vehicle; and unlawfully and feloniously using a pistol or other firearm while attempting to commit the murder or malicious wounding of another.
William Francis Rosalia, 48, of White Stone was charged January 29 with six counts of manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing or possessing with intent to manufacture, sell, give or distribute a controlled substance.
Misdemeanors
A Lancaster man, 23, was charged January 26 with two counts of threatening an illegal immoral act with the intent to coerce, intimidate or harass a person over a telephone, and two counts of violating a provision of a family abuse protective order.
A Warsaw woman, 32, was charged January 26 with petit larceny.
A Warsaw woman, 27, was charged January 26 with petit larceny.
A Weems man, 49, was charged January 27 with concealing goods valued less than $1,000, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
A Lancaster woman, 22, was charged January 29 with destruction of property, and assault and battery.
A Lancaster man, 33, was charged January 31 with willfully or maliciously preventing, obstructing or delaying the sending, conveyance or delivery in the Commonwealth of authorized communication by or through a wireless transmission device with the intent to prevent another person from summoning law enforcement, fire or rescue services, and assault and battery of a family or household member.
Activity report
January 26: Staff responded to River Road for a downed tree, to the 800 block of White Chapel Road for fraud, to Windmill Point Road for a downed tree, to the 1400 block of Pinckardsville Road for destruction of property, to the 1400 block of Avis Trail for a civil complaint, to the 800 block of Weems Road for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, to the 400 block of Buzzards Neck Road for a wanted person, to the 8000 block of River Road for a wanted person, and to Taylors Creek Road for a suspicious person.
January 27: Staff responded to the 300 block of Steamboat Road for a vehicle hit and run, to the 200 block of Benson Road for fraud, to Dungeon Thicket Road and Chesapeake Trail for a disabled vehicle, and to the 600 block of Johns Neck Road for a wanted person.
January 28: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for fraud, and to the 1400 block of Avis Trail for the report of threats.
January 29: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for destruction of property, to the 100 block of Shoreline Drive for trespassing, and to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a fight in progress.
January 30: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the highway, and to the 900 block of Johns Neck Road for a domestic disturbance.
January 31: Staff responded to Devils Bottom Road for debris in the highway, to Weems Road for an adult welfare check, to the 1400 block of Millenbeck Road for destruction of property, and to the 3000 block of Lara Road for an adult welfare check.
February 1: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for the report of a disabled vehicle.
Staff also conducted 31 traffic stops, issued 26 summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated eight building alarms, logged three inmate transports, received 11 E911 hang up calls, and fielded six calls for animal control service.
Fire Calls
White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a possible gas leak on Orchard Point Drive, a propane leak on Windmill Point Road, a fire alarm on Norris Drive, and with Kilmarnock VFD and Upper Lancaster VFD to a residential structure fire on Harpers Creek Drive.
Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Eubank Drive.
Upper Lancaster VFD also responded to a mutual aid/structure fire on Skipjack Road in Kinsale.
