School construction in the home stretch

LANCASTER—Nearly two years after the groundbreaking, the vision of the new Lancaster High School is closer to being realized.

“You’ll start to notice that we’re working on the finishes. We’re getting away from concrete and steel” with cabinetry, flooring and tile going in, director of operations and project management Travis Pittman told supervisors on Thursday, January 29.

Other construction milestones include the paving of the parking lot and the installation of bleachers, moved from the current high school. Pittman said stormwater management features affected the field placement, moving it closer to the property line near Dream Fields and reducing the space for visitor seating….
