Nancy R. C. Hundley

IRVINGTON—Nancy Ruth (Campbell) Hundley, 93, of Irvington passed away on February 18, 2026.

Born in Glendale, California, Nancy spent her early years developing her deep love for animals on her family’s small farm. A love that she passed on to each generation. As a teenager, she graduated from San Fernando Valley High then went on to work for General Motors. It was at this time that she met the love of her life, Roy Hundley, who was stationed with the U.S. Navy. They married in 1954 and soon began building a family of their own. After those early years, they chose to move east to Irvington, to live in her husband’s hometown.

Family was the center of her world. Nancy supported her loved ones in every pursuit, celebrating their successes and encouraging them through challenges. She took an avid and active interest in the lives of her grandchildren and her great-grandson, attending their events, cheering them on and creating memories that will carry forever.

Nancy also had a lifelong love of travel, embracing new places and experiences with enthusiasm and curiosity. She was a devoted member of her church and the Rebekahs. She also spent more than 20 years creating and organizing crafts for her church’s annual bazaar. Her life was a testament to faith, devotion and the quiet strength of kindness. Her memory will continue to guide and inspire all who knew and loved her.

Nancy is survived by her son, Douglas Hundley Sr. (Robin) of Irvington; daughter, Elizabeth Barksdale (Steve) of Irvington; grandchildren, Tracie Jones (James) of Mechanicsville, Douglas Hundley Jr. of Irvington, Tyler Barksdale of Irvington, Trevor Barksdale of Irvington; great-grandson, Liam Jones of Mechanicsville; sister, Dorothy Howard of San Diego, California; sister-in-law, Rosie Feamster of Portsmouth, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever remember her spirit, her steady support and the love she gave.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hundley of Irvington; and parents, Wallace and Harriet Campbell of California.

Her funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 23, at Irvington United Methodist Church, 26 King Carter Drive, Irvington, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Kilmarnock.
