HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland planning commission on Thursday, February 19, recommended the approval of a conditional use permit to install a Verizon wireless tower on Movie Hall Lane in Callao. If approved by supervisors, the tower could also provide service to two other wireless carriers.
Lisa Murphy, counsel for the applicant, Vertical Bridge, said the 195-foot monopole style tower would be enclosed within a 50-foot-by-50-foot fenced space and would be screened by an existing buffer of trees. They also proffered space on the pole to the county at no charge.
Tony Mangano, owner of the property, said he had heard “nothing but complaints” about cell service in Callao and noted the new tower would improve….
