Lady Devils crush opening-week foes

To open the spring sandlot season, the Lady Devils scored 26 runs in back-to-back wins over Tidewater District opponents Middlesex and Mathews.

Lancaster High School claimed a five-inning slaughter over the Lady Chargers, 17-0, on Thursday, March 19, and beat the Blue Devils, 9-4, on Friday, March 20.

Lancaster batted through the lineup to score seven runs on three hits, seven walks and a hit batter for a 9-0 lead. The Lady Devils scored all seven with no outs in the bottom of the second before the Chargers turned a double play.
