HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, March 24, with the Hon. R. Michael McKenney presiding.

In the case of David V. Christian of Kilmarnock, charged with probation violation on a felony offense, a status hearing was set for April 21.

In the case of Robert W. Dawson II of Portsmouth, two counts of probation violation on a felony offense were nolle prossed.

Gracey L. Echard of Callao pleaded nolo contendere to an assault on a law enforcement/department of corrections person. A deferred disposition was set for March 23, 2027.

In the case of Richard G. Gallagher of Reedville, two counts of probation violation on a felony offense were concluded by nolle prossed.

Christopher L. Goins Jr. of Lancaster had his probation revoked after pleading nolo contendere to four counts of probation violation on a felony offense. He was sentenced to three years with two years and six months suspended.

In the case of John J. Makowelski, charged with larceny by unauthorized use of a vehicle and destruction of property with a value of over $1000, a status hearing was set for April 28.

In the case of Jonathan T. Martin of Heathsville, charged with two counts of grand larceny by auto theft, grand larceny, and grand larceny of over $1000 not personal property, a status hearing was set for May 19.

In the case of Lakeena O. Noel of Virginia Beach, charged with four counts of probation violation on a felony offense, sentencing was se for April 21.

Reginald M. Smith of Lancaster pleaded guilty to three counts of probation violation on a felony offense. He was sentenced to eight years with seven years suspended. He faces $855.20 in costs.

In the case of Antwan S. Taylor of Reedville, a possession charge of Schedule I/II drugs was dismissed. He owes $1142.55 in costs.

Darryn D. Walters of Heathsville pleaded nolo contendere to possession of Schedule I/II drugs. A deferred disposition was set for September 22.

In the case of Johnny M. Smithart of Heathsville, charged with three counts of rape of his spouse by force, forcible sodomy upon his spouse and rape upon spouse by sexual penetration with an object, a status hearing was set for April 21.

Reminder, those charged with alleged crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
