Lady Devils split wins on the road

Shelby Haynie hit a solo homer and Lancaster collected seven hits to pick up a 4-2 win over West Virginia’s Moorefield on Monday, March 30, during a two-day spring break outing at Strasburg. The Lady Devils improved to 6-2 in varsity softball and will open Northern Neck District play at home against Colonial Beach on Tuesday, April 14.

Lancaster split in games at Strasburg with the hosting Rams shutting out the Lady Devils, 10-0, on Tuesday, March 31.

Lancaster 4, Moorefield 2

Lancaster battled back from two runs down with a lead-off homer by Shelby Haynie in the bottom of the fifth and rallied for a comeback win with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.

The Lady Devils had back-to-back singles to open the sixth from Kelsie Cox and Addie George then got a two-run double from Lily Russell, a line drive to….
