Jacquie Colligan to open Local Artist series at The Tides Inn

Urbanna artist Jacquie Colligan will open the 2026 Local Artist series at The Tides Inn, 480 King Carter Drive, Irvington. Her artwork will be on display at the entrance lobby for 90 days beginning today, April 16.

Colligan became an artist member of the Virginia Watercolor Society nearly 20 years ago, reported Thomas Collgan. To attain that goal, an artist must be selected for exhibition in three annual juried shows of the Virginia Watercolor Society.

A 30-year member of The Rappahannock Art League (RAL), “A Beautiful Mind” won best in show at the 53rd annual Labor Day show. A year later, her Yupo-styled “Rainbow Sunset” claimed the purple ribbon for non-traditional art. The following year, “Unspoiled Universe” won a blue ribbon and the next year, “Sangre de Cristo”
