LHS tennis teams competitive and improving, despite limited numbers

Lancaster High School returns its number one and two players, both with region playoff experience, to lead its girls tennis team. Oddly enough, those seasoned veterans and team leaders—McKenzie Pittman and Finley Major—are still only sophomores.

“We have two of the best players in the region,” said coach George Christoforatos. “We could have state champions in singles and doubles if we continue to work hard. Both McKenzie and Finley will be right in the thick of things.”

Despite being young, Lancaster fills a solid team this year with sophomores Izzy Dew, Kamaryi Harding and Vinieka Muirhead and juniors Miette Wolfe and Angelina Smith, said Christoforatos.
