
In February, band students from the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula went to Charles City High School to audition for the 2026 NNMP Area Band.
On March 20 and 21, those who passed the audition met at Westmoreland High School for a day-and-a-half of rehearsals and a concert. The junior high band was under the direction of Dr. Christopher Lair, a musician and educator in central Virginia. The senior high band was led by Christopher Moseley from Henrico County Public Schools. Moseley also is president-elect of the Virginia Music Educators Association.
“Lancaster had 11 students in the event this year,” said LHS band director Kenny Flester. “This is the most Lancaster has had participate in several years….
