
EDGEWATER, FL—A. Wayne Ogburn, 84, of Edgewater, Fla., passed away at his home on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
A native of Tidewater, Wayne was a devoted follower of the Episcopal faith and belonged to multiple churches throughout his life, including St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Heathsville. He spent much of his life in Northern Virginia, commuting to The Pentagon where he worked as a Department of Defense comptroller. On weekends, he enjoyed escaping to the Northern Neck before eventually retiring to Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Monika W. Ogburn.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert T. Ogburn of Ashburn and Michael T. Ogburn of Raleigh, N.C., as well as four grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Heathsville.
