Acting workshop registration is due

Rebecca Tebbs Nunn will conduct the Youth Acting Workshop at the Lancaster Players Playhouse in White Stone beginning July 5 at 9 a.m.

The workshop hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 5 through 7 and July 10 through 13. The July 14 workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  There will be shows at 7 p.m. July 14 and at 2 p.m. July 15 at the Playhouse, 361 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone. The fee for the workshop is $150.

This year’s show is written by Nunn and titled “Anything Goes.” The show will include dramatic readings, short plays, a fairy tale, show tunes, dance numbers, performances on musical instruments, Shakespeare and comedy routines spanning drama from the Greek to contemporary theater and incorporating method acting, said Nunn.

She will accept 40 students and only has a few vacancies left for ages 10 to 18. Call 435-3704 to enroll.

Assisting Nunn will be musical director Ilona Duncan, choreographer Sue Broadway and line dance choreographer Joanne Haynie. Luke Rawls and Bob Walker will be in the light booth along with Bruce Hamilton, the sound engineer.

This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to get to learn, work and perform in a real theater with professional lighting and sound, said Nunn. Students will get to study lighting, sound and set design along with their instruction in acting, dancing and singing.

A limited number of scholarships from Lancaster Players are available.
