Additional classes have been added to Heritage Arts schedule

New Heritage Arts classes have been added to the summer/fall schedule at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville.

The public is invited to learn decorative arts and painting, basketry, blacksmithing and weaving, said executive director Corinne Becker.

Coffee-time Sip and Create will be held from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. August 11. Participants will learn silver point drawing, a technique that uses a small rod of silver in a stylus on a prepared ground to produce fine lines that develop into a rich patina.

The fee is $35. All equipment will be provided and a $5 material fee will be payable to the instructor, Celeste Johnston.

More Creative Play with Coiled Baskets will be offered from 1-4 p.m. August 17. Donna Silvestri will teach students to use the skills they learned in the first class and….
