BUMPASS—Alice Denise “Dee” Harding Norris, 79, of Bumpass passed away peacefully August 1, 2025, due to complications from a surgery.
Denise was predeceased by her father, Carroll Emory Harding, and her mother, Lenora Temple Dew Harding; her sister, Jacquelyn Temple Harding House; and a beloved cousin, Judith Mae Beane.
Denise is survived by her husband, Martin Lee Norris, to whom she would have been married 50 years on August 16; her son, Brandon Lee Norris and daughter, Krista Lynn Norris. She is further survived by much loved cousins Leonora “Nona” Ryland Harding Backlund (Corky), Joanne Mason Dew Flanagan (Lou), Linda Ray Dew Matter (Karl), Joseph William Beane Jr. (Joan), and Janet Ryland Beane Davenport (Jay).
Denise was born and raised in Kilmarnock. After high school she moved to Richmond and attended Smithdeal Massey where she majored in business with an emphasis in accounting. Denise worked for several different companies for many years in the Richmond area before retiring.
Denise will be remembered for her kind, gentle nature and her deep, abiding love for her family. After a service at the Currie Funeral Home, she was interred in the Norris family plot at the Smithland Baptist Church Cemetery in Heathsville.
