BURGESS—Robert Lewis “Bob” Stricker passed away peacefully Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the age of 78 at his home in Burgess, surrounded by family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Zenobia Stricker; and brother, Jon of Quick, W.Va.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Francis.
Bob served his country in the United States Air Force. After his service, he embarked on a career in the communications field. From his early years with the C&P Telephone Co. in Washington, D.C., to his pivotal roles at Verizon, Bob dedicated himself to connecting people until his retirement in 2001 when he and Fran moved to the Northern Neck.
Bob was an accomplished musician on the piano, bringing joy to everyone around him. Together, Bob and Fran embarked on numerous camping journeys accompanied by their faithful canine companion.
While Bob’s presence will be deeply missed, he will be celebrated through the memories and music he leaves behind.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at a future date.
