Senior Sadie Packett, who helped lead Rappahannock to a 13-10 regular season record as the Northern Neck District tournament champion, was named the district volleyball player of the year following the Wednesday championship.
Haley Woolard was named the coach of the year. Woolard led Northumberland to a 15-6 regular season record as the district leader and the tournament runner-up. The Indians defeated the Raiders twice during the regular season but Rappahannock got the win when the trophy was on the line, sweeping NHS, 3-0, in the tournament final Wednesday, October 30.
The Indians and Raiders both put three players on the all-district first team with Packett, senior Laney Williams and senior libero Maggie Wonderling representing Rappahannock. Northumberland’s first team selections included sophomores Tawny Bowis and Lacie Self and senior Ava Wilson.
Lancaster, which finished the regular season in third place, filled two spots on the first team in freshmen hitter Alexis VerMeer and back row specialist Addie George….
