LIVELY—Ann M. Anthony, 85, of  Lively passed away on February 18, 2021,       peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born on July 15, 1935, in Detroit, Mich. She relocated to the Northern Neck, her father’s hometown, in 1946 with her parents and siblings. Ann dedicated her life to raising her family and had an immense faith in God. 

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Ovid and Myrtle McCarty; her brother, Ovid R. “Sonny” McCarty; and her beloved sons, Mike and John Anthony.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Virginia Headley of Lively; her sister, Virginia Berry of Corrottoman; and her daughter-in-law, Margaret Anthony of Farnham. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rebecca Alba (Luis) of Mattaponi; Stephanie Ketner (Donnie) of  White Stone; Tony Anthony (Dara) of Farnham; Ricky Anthony (Stephanie) of Yorktown and Les Headley IV (Kim) of Cape May, N.J.; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

Ann was a devoted member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Kilmarnock. 

A private graveside service will be held with a celebration of Ann’s life planned for a safer time in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 154 East Church Street, Kilmarnock, VA 22482; or the Animal Welfare League, P. O. Box 975, White Stone, VA 22578.

Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
