White Stone Church of the Nazarene, 57 Whisk Drive, White Stone, will hold a fundraising auction Saturday, April 27. A preview of items will begin at 9 a.m. and a live auction will start at 10 a.m.
Items have been donated from individuals and businesses and include furniture, tools, a Kubota tractor, sporting goods, electronics, new designer items and homemade baked goods. Proceeds will benefit a June 2019 Jamaica Mission Trip.
“The team will be traveling to the western side of Jamaica to the interior village of Frome. This village is in the middle of sugar cane fields where many of the people work. The village is extremely poor,” said trip coordinator Paul Sciacchitano.
“We will be working at the Child Development Center (CDC) of the Burnt Savannah Church of the Nazarene. A group will be building a room on to the CDC to be used as a trade school for teens. Another group will be working in the CDC classrooms with the teachers. We will also be holding a vacation bible school and evangelizing with children and teens on soccer fields and netball courts,” he said.
