KILMARNOCK—It’s been more than a year since Stephanie Surber has greeted customers from behind the counter of her music and more store, C&D Music.
It feels different and looks different, she said, but she’s happy to be reopen in the store’s new location, 19 West Church Street, Kilmarnock.
C&D Music is the last of the businesses destroyed or damaged in an April 2022 fire to find a new home. The early morning blaze, which tore through a block of buildings on Irvington Road, was responsible for one death, displaced five businesses and left numerous residents searching for a place to live.
Three of the five businesses reopened elsewhere in Kilmarnock….
